Department: Production / Packaging

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Machine In-Charge

Job Summary

The Carton Erecting Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the carton erecting machine to ensure efficient production of high-quality cartons. The role includes machine setup, troubleshooting, quality control, and adherence to safety and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation

• Operate, control, and monitor the carton erecting machine during production.
• Set up the machine based on job order specifications (carton size, style, die-cut type, glue position, etc.).
• Ensure continuous machine operation with minimal downtime.
• Feed materials (paperboard, die-cut blanks) into the machine properly.

2. Production & Quality Control

• Inspect produced cartons for proper folding, gluing, and overall quality.
• Conduct periodic checks to ensure cartons meet customer specifications.
• Reject defective or damaged products and report issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain production output as per daily/weekly targets.

3. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform basic machine adjustments and minor repairs when needed.
• Lubricate, clean, and maintain machine parts according to maintenance schedules.
• Immediately report major mechanical issues to the maintenance team.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Follow company safety protocols and wear required PPE.
• Ensure machine is operated safely to prevent injuries.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from obstructions.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Record daily production output, waste, downtime, and material usage.
• Report any quality issues or machine concerns to supervisors.
• Assist in implementing process improvements when required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Basic technical or vocational certificate preferred.
• Experience operating carton erecting, gluing, or packaging machines is an advantage.
• Ability to read and understand job orders and machine settings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long hours.
• Ability to lift materials up to company-specified limits.
• Comfortable working around machines and production noise.
