We're hiring a Catalogue Consultant to shape the way Salla merchants manage their product data, taxonomy, and digital content — creating catalogue systems that are both structured and merchant-friendly.

  What You Will Do

-
Redefine how product data lives in Salla. Evaluate how merchants today create, categorize, and enrich product data — then design smarter, scalable structures for thousands of SKUs across categories.

-
Build the taxonomy backbone. Define and maintain taxonomy, metadata, and data governance frameworks that support multi-language catalogues (Arabic/English) and multiple markets (GCC, International).

-
Collaborate across product, engineering, and UX. Work with squads responsible for Imports, Checkout, and Discovery to improve product import flows, attribute management, and localization logic.

-
Design attribute and classification templates. Create adaptive attribute templates and product schemas per merchant type (e.g., fashion, beauty, electronics), ensuring every category captures only what's relevant.

-
Drive catalogue data quality. Set standards for product data completeness, consistency, and SEO alignment — ensuring high discoverability across store search, marketplaces, and external channels.

-
Lead PIM/MDM implementations. Guide system testing, integration, and data validation for catalogue syncs, bulk imports, and migration workflows from other platforms.

-
Improve product discovery. Define which product attributes appear as filters and how they impact conversion, relevance, and recommendation quality.

-
Collaborate on merchant tooling. Support the design of new catalogue management tools, AI enrichment features, and merchant onboarding experiences for product setup

Requirements
-
5-8 years of experience in catalogue or product data management within e-commerce, marketplaces, or ERP environments

-
Experience in Product Information Management (PIM) or Master Data Management (MDM): You've implemented or managed systems such as Akeneo, Riversand, Pimcore, Salsify, or Informatica.

-
Strong understanding of eCommerce catalog structures: You know how SKU data, product variants, and attribute hierarchies work across complex product types (fashion, beauty, electronics, FMCG, etc.).

-
Hands-on experience with product data and taxonomy: You've built or optimized attribute models, filters, and product classification systems at scale.

-
Knowledge of SEO and content enrichment best practices: You understand how structured product data improves visibility, search performance, and customer discovery.

-
Analytical mindset: You can analyze merchant catalogs, identify inconsistencies, and propose scalable data models that improve automation and reporting.

-
Technical literacy: Familiar with data exchange formats (CSV, JSON, XML), APIs, and integrations between catalog, ERP, and marketplace systems.

-
Bilingual advantage: Fluency in Arabic and English is a plus, especially for taxonomy and localization validation across regions.

-
Preferred background: Experience with online marketplaces, large retail eCommerce operations, or SaaS product catalog systems.

-
Proven experience managing large-scale product data: Comfortable working with tens or hundreds of thousands of SKUs, ensuring data normalization, bulk imports, and catalog consistency across multi-channel retail environments.

-
Omnichannel and retail experience: You've collaborated with or worked inside retailers that operate both online and offline, understanding how to align digital catalog data with POS systems, ERP integrations, and in-store inventory synchronization
