Category Buyer

About the Role

Schneider Electric’s Global ETO business is going through a strong transformation journey to deliver higher performance and greater value to our customers. Global ETO Procurement is one of the key drivers of this transformation and has been playing a critical role over the past years.

BADR Plant , one of the strategic plants within Global ETO, is projected to achieve >25% sales growth in 2026 . To support this growth, we are looking for a Category Buyer who will manage multiple Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical categories by designing and implementing annual performance and operational plans.

Key Responsibilities

Category & Spend Management

• Lead supplier selection, supplier development, and coordinate Supplier Qualifications (SAM)
• Manage a spend of approx. 7–8 M€ including supplier management, spend analytics, need analysis, and Annual Procurement Operation Planning (APOP)
• Coordinate with regional and global category teams to drive category initiatives
• Manage contracts and procurement risk

Part / Component Development

• Lead RFPs, negotiations, PPAP coordination, pricing agreements
• Coordinate MSA, LTC, QTC processes with internal functions and external suppliers

Cost Reduction & Productivity

• Drive annual cost reductions through:
• Negotiation preparation
• Should-cost analysis
• External benchmarking
• Multi-year agreements
• Supplier changes
• Value engineering & localization initiatives

Supply Management

• Collaborate closely with plant teams to ensure smooth material flow
• Drive dual/alternate sourcing strategies to avoid single-source risks

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Plant Procurement Manager , Operations, Quality, and Engineering
• Contribute to higher productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction

Procurement Digitalization

• Learn and effectively use digital tools to reduce non-value-added activities (NVAs)

Sustainability in Procurement

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support Schneider Electric’s sustainability mission for planet and people

Required Competencies

• 3–5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / Category Management
• Strong commercial & negotiation skills
• Experience in Supplier Relationship Management
• Strong leadership presence
• Project management capabilities
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Good knowledge of procurement tools and processes
