Cath Lab - Staff Nurse

Our Cardiology Department is one of the most active and advanced in the region, performing high volumes of interventional procedures and offering unparalleled learning and professional growth for clinical staff.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Nurse to join our Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) team. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of relevant experience as a Scrub Nurse in a Cath Lab and demonstrate a strong understanding of sterile technique, patient care, and cath lab protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist interventional cardiologists during procedures such as coronary angiograms, angioplasties, pacemaker and ICD implantations, and other cardiac catheter-based interventions.
• Function as a scrub nurse maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, and handling devices with precision and care.
• Prepare the Cath Lab before and after procedures, including equipment checks, sterilization, and documentation.
• Monitor patient vitals during and after procedures, identify complications, and assist in immediate interventions as needed.
• Provide pre-procedural and post-procedural nursing care ensuring patient safety, comfort, and education.
• Coordinate with cardiologists, technicians, and fellow nurses to ensure smooth workflow within the department.
• Accurately document nursing notes, medications administered, consumables used, and patient observations.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control policies, radiation safety guidelines, and hospital protocols.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing or GNM from a recognized institution.
• License: Must be registered with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Scrub Nurse in a hospital setting.
• Excellent knowledge of cardiac procedures and Cath Lab equipment.
• Strong clinical and technical nursing skills, including emergency response.
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and perform efficiently during emergencies.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including on-call and emergency duties.
