About the Role:
The CCTV Engineer Manager is responsible for leading the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of advanced video surveillance systems across multiple sites. This role requires deep technical expertise in CCTV, VMS platforms, network infrastructure, and security integration, along with strong leadership to manage engineering teams and large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of CCTV engineers and technicians, ensuring high performance and continuous skill development
- Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of end-to-end CCTV and video surveillance systems (IP & analog)
- Develop system architectures including cameras, VMS, storage solutions, and network infrastructure
- Manage full project lifecycle from concept, design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications and quality standards
- Configure, integrate, and optimize Video Management Systems (VMS) and related security platforms
- Integrate CCTV systems with access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, and other ELV systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network layers
- Establish preventive maintenance strategies and ensure high system uptime and reliability
- Monitor system performance, conduct audits, and implement improvements for operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with local regulations (Qatar) and international standards (e.g., ONVIF, cybersecurity best practices)
- Prepare and review technical documentation, BOQs, reports, and system drawings
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement processes, and subcontractor performance
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect surveillance systems and data
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in CCTV/ELV systems, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role
- Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale CCTV and surveillance projects
- Strong expertise in IP-based CCTV systems, cameras, and video surveillance technologies
- Hands-on experience with Video Management Systems (VMS) such as Hikvision, Dahua, Milestone, Genetec, or Avigilon
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing)
- Experience with storage systems (NAS, SAN, RAID configurations)
- Strong understanding of system integration (CCTV with access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, BMS)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to surveillance systems
- Familiarity with local Qatar regulations and international standards (e.g., ONVIF)
- Proven ability to manage teams, multiple projects, and stakeholders effectively
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
