Center Director

The Center Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and programming of a Club site. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, outcome-driven youth development programs that align with the Club’s mission while upholding adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Responsibilities include program development and oversight, staff and volunteer management, behavior support, administrative and financial management, marketing and public relations, community engagement and partnerships, safety, and facility management.

Education & Experience (Requires a majority combination of the following):

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, or a related field

  • Prior work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • High energy level

  • Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects

  • Good interpersonal abilities-able to interact effectively with co-workers of all levels as well as with representatives of other organizations and institutions

  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities

  • Tact, maturity, and flexibility

  • Sight, hearing, sitting, standing, stooping, running, strenuous sports-related activities

  • Occasional lifting a maximum of 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to function under fast paced and noisy conditions

Other Qualifications:

  • Valid State Driver’s License and access to regular and reliable transportation. Eligible and able to drive a Club vehicle and transport members.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations; in personnel supervision, the recruitment and retention of key personnel; facilities management; and budget management.

  • Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, multi-task, and delegate assignments to meet deadlines with limited supervision

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, subordinates, Board members, community groups, and other related agencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Flexibility to work hours that vary daily and throughout the year
