Certified Dental Assistant

Job Summary

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical privacy
  • Manage patient records electronically using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history and treatment plans
  • Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care
  • Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices in a friendly, professional manner
  • Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation

Qualifications

  • Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration in accordance with state requirements
  • Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus
  • Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices accurately and safely
  • Experience with chairside assisting in four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards for accurate documentation of medical records and billing
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages, especially pediatrics

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
