Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across various medical specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient clinical procedures. Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as drawing blood, administering medications under supervision, and assisting with X-ray imaging when needed.
  • Support physicians during procedures by maintaining sterile fields and managing necessary supplies.
  • Document clinical notes with precision, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper billing and recordkeeping.
  • Monitor patient status in inpatient or outpatient settings, including Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and adhere to hospital or clinic policies for emergency medicine and trauma response.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to diverse specialties like internal medicine, medical-surgical units, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.
  • Experience working in hospital environments, Level I or II trauma centers, or outpatient clinics with exposure to inpatient care settings.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems for documentation of intake assessments, vital signs, ICD coding, and medication administration records.
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures such as X-ray imaging and assist with OR (Operating Room) procedures when necessary.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including pediatric (PICU), adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Familiarity with hospital medicine practices including Level I Trauma Center protocols and urgent care workflows.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
