Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within fast-paced clinical environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to quality outpatient care across diverse specialties, including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and more.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and documentation to ensure accurate and efficient clinical flow.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Perform clinical tasks such as administering medications, collecting specimens, and assisting with X-ray imaging when necessary.
- Support medical record management using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding and documentation of patient encounters.
- Monitor patient physiology and vital signs, recognizing abnormal findings that require further attention or escalation.
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient procedures across various departments such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, and surgical units.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Provide exemplary patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and ensuring a positive experience.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in diverse settings such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to inpatient and outpatient care.
- Familiarity with EHR systems, ICD coding, medication administration, and medical-surgical procedures.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs, specimen collection, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS).
- Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous; familiarity with PICU or OR environments is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence in fast-paced healthcare settings.
