Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

KCUC is a large urology, oncology and radiation private medical practice seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to work in their Oncology Department. This position will require candidate to travel with physician to our NKC and Independence offices. Ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient flow of patients through the clinic setting by facilitating examination and treatment of patients in a manner that reflects KCUC values with exceptional customer service. Candidate will also contribute to patient care by preparing patient for visit by accurately maintaining patient electronic medical record, organizing clinic and or exam rooms, assisting physicians, adequately monitoring office and clinic inventory supplies, assisting nurses and other KCUC team members as necessary.

• Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents in medical record
• Performs duties such as greeting patients, pre-certification of tests, procedures and medications processing insurance forms, and answering phones.
• Ensures data collected for each visit is recorded accurately in medical record
• Electronically submits, calls and/or faxes in prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies
• Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures appropriate levels of supplies are maintained.
• Checks and completes drug and equipment log usage on each patient or equipment item as appropriate.
• Perform procedures as directed by the nurse or physician as directed by the competency checklist.
• Drawing blood and processing lab requisitions.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and technical competencies.
• Understand Scheduling

High School Diploma

Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program

BLS Certification

EMR Experience
