Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our hospice team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including hospice, long-term care, hospitals, and assisted living facilities. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, supporting comfort measures, and ensuring adherence to all safety and documentation standards. The CNA will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients during their final stages.

*Important to note that we are hiring for early morning start times (approx 5-6am).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and changes in condition accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
  • Assist with specialized care needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, and behavioral health management.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy to prevent infection.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, sub-acute, outpatient, or home & community settings to ensure comprehensive patient support.
  • Educate patients and families about care plans, medication routines, and safety protocols to promote understanding and comfort.

Experience
Candidates should demonstrate experience working across diverse healthcare environments including hospice, hospital medicine (ICU, Level I Trauma Center), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or pediatric settings. Prior exposure to critical care areas such as emergency medicine or PICU is highly valued. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is essential. Experience with medical-surgical procedures, geriatrics, DME (durable medical equipment), and post-acute or outpatient care will strengthen candidacy. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, infectious disease protocols, and advanced patient service skills are required to excel in this role. A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary to ensure readiness for emergency situations. Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
