Certified Pesticide Applicator

Job Summary:

The Pesticide Applicator plays a crucial role in the safe and effective application of pesticides to control pests and maintain a pest-free environment. This position requires a keen understanding of various pesticide types, application methods, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and minimize environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

· Safely and accurately mix, apply, and monitor pesticide treatments according to approved procedures, pest management plans, and regulatory guidelines.

· Operate and maintain equipment used in pesticide application, including sprayers, spreaders, and other relevant tools.

· Conduct thorough site assessments to identify pest problems and determine appropriate treatment strategies.

· Collaborate with the Pesticide Manager or Supervisor to develop and implement pest management plans, considering integrated pest management (IPM) principles.

· Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to pesticide application, safety standards, and environmental protection.

· Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols while handling and applying pesticides.

· Keep accurate records of pesticide application activities, including dates, types of pesticides used, quantities applied, and weather conditions.

· Maintain knowledge of pest biology, behavior, and resistance to pesticides to optimize treatment effectiveness.

· Communicate effectively with clients, residents, or stakeholders to explain treatment procedures, safety precautions, and expected outcomes.

· Identify and report any issues or irregularities in pest activity, equipment, or applications to the Pesticide Manager or Supervisor.

· Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on new pest control methods, equipment, and regulatory changes.

· Assist in the maintenance and calibration of application equipment to ensure accurate and consistent pesticide delivery.

· Follow company policies and procedures for waste disposal, cleanup, and containment of spills or leaks.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in agriculture, horticulture, or pest management is a plus.

· Valid state or regional Pesticide Applicator License or Certification.

· Experience as a Pesticide Applicator or in a related role preferred but not mandatory.

· Strong understanding of integrated pest management (IPM) principles and environmentally friendly pest control methods.

· Knowledge of various pesticide types, application methods, and safety protocols.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following directions and protocols closely.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.

· Physical stamina to perform pesticide application tasks, including lifting and maneuvering equipment.

· Attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain records and documentation.

· Flexibility to work different locations and hours depending on the needs of the route.

· A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
