Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary
Join our dynamic retail open door RX team as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accurate medication management, and providing exceptional patient service. Your critical care experience and knowledge of medical terminology will support our hospital’s mission to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in retail pharmacy settings, aseptic technique, and medication administration.

Duties

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including IV infusions and aseptic preparations.
  • Assist with medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, offering medication guidance, and supporting patient care initiatives.
  • Maintain meticulous records of medication administration, inventory management, and pharmacy documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support critical care teams by managing high-volume medication orders and ensuring timely delivery for acute care patients.
  • Follow strict aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth medication workflows within hospital or LTC pharmacy settings.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; current licensure or registration as required by state law.
  • Proven pharmacy technician experience, ideally within LTC pharmacy or hospital environments.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with IV infusion preparation and handling high-acuity patient medications in critical care or acute care settings.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
