Certified Pharmacy Technician/Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medication administration, patient service, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in long-term care (LTC) and critical care settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive experience for patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and pharmacy regulations.
• Perform intake duties, including gathering patient information and verifying prescriptions.
• Administer medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care settings to optimize patient care outcomes.
• Support IV infusion preparation and administration as needed, following established guidelines.
• Ensure that all pharmacy operations comply with legal, regulatory, and safety standards.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in LTC or hospital settings.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and IV infusion processes is essential.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Critical thinking skills for problem-solving in high-pressure situations related to medication administration.
