About the Role

The Certinia Engineer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, and ongoing enhancement of the firm's Certinia Professional Services Automation (PSA) platform, built on Salesforce. This India-based role supports a global firm and works closely with stakeholders and technology teams across the United States, United Kingdom, and India.

This role requires deep functional and technical expertise in Certinia PSA, combined with strong engineering judgment and collaborative problem-solving skills. The Certinia Developer/Engineer is expected to actively participate in requirements discussions, help shape scalable solutions, and ensure implementations align with platform capabilities, financial controls, and long-term operational needs.

As the firm continues to grow and mature its Certinia capabilities, this role will serve as one of the team's Certinia subject matter experts. While Certinia PSA is the primary focus, the role is intentionally designed for engineers who are open to becoming multi-disciplinary over time and contributing to broader development, automation, and integration initiatives across the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain Certinia PSA solutions across core domains including projects, tasks, milestones, time tracking, billing, WIP, revenue recognition, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to gather requirements, ask clarifying questions, and translate business needs into effective Certinia-based solutions.
  • Configure and extend Certinia functionality using Salesforce-native tools, including objects, workflows, and business rules.
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce Flows (including record-triggered flows) to support and automate Certinia processes.
  • Apply a strong understanding of Certinia's data model and dependencies to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with platform best practices.
  • Participate in structured promotion processes across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
  • Utilize source control, peer reviews, and code reviews to ensure solution quality, consistency, and maintainability.
  • Write and maintain test coverage to support reliable deployments and regression testing.
  • Document Certinia configurations, customizations, flows, and technical designs to support operational clarity and long-term sustainability.
  • Actively evaluate security, data access, and financial control implications of Certinia changes and flag potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the firm's security team to review designs and help engineer secure and compliant solutions.
  • Support Certinia-related integrations and reporting initiatives as needed, based on business priorities.
  • Contribute to cross-functional development initiatives beyond Certinia, including automation, integrations, and scripting, as organizational needs evolve.
  • Work effectively with globally distributed teams, participating in planned meetings such as sprint planning and design sessions.
  • Remain current on Certinia and Salesforce platform updates, best practices, and industry trends, and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Respond to development-related tickets and perform other duties as assigned.
