Sequerra Global is a climate solutions and carbon markets company working across carbon credit project development, brokerage, policy support, clean energy, forestry, and water infrastructure. We operate at the intersection of climate finance, real assets, and emerging markets, partnering with governments, corporates, and international institutions.

We are entering a scale-up phase and are looking for a hands-on, strategic CFO to build and lead our finance function.

Role Overview

The CFO will be a core member of the leadership team, responsible for financial strategy, governance, capital planning, and operational finance across Sequerra Global’s businesses and project pipeline.

This is not a passive reporting role. The CFO will work closely with the CEO on growth strategy, project economics, capital raising, risk management, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Partner with the CEO and Board on long-term financial strategy and growth planning.
• Translate business strategy into clear financial plans, budgets, and KPIs.
• Support decision-making across project development, investments, and partnerships.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Build and review financial models for carbon credit projects, infrastructure projects, and advisory mandates.
• Provide regular management reporting with clear insights, not just numbers.

Capital, Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Support fundraising efforts (equity, debt, project finance, strategic partnerships).
• Prepare investor materials, financial disclosures, and due-diligence support.
• Manage relationships with investors, banks, and financial partners.

Governance, Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Establish strong internal controls, financial policies, and audit processes.
• Oversee tax planning, statutory filings, and external audits.

Risk Management

• Identify and manage financial, operational, and project-level risks.
• Oversee FX exposure, liquidity management, and contractual financial risk.

Team & Systems

• Build and lead the finance function (accounting, FP&A, compliance).
• Implement and manage accounting/ERP systems as the company scales.
• Establish reporting standards suitable for institutional partners and governments.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Prior experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or Head of Finance in a growth-stage company.
• Strong exposure to project-based businesses, infrastructure, energy, ESG, or climate-related sectors is highly preferred.
• Experience with fundraising and investor engagement.

Technical Skills

• Strong command of IFRS and financial governance.
• Advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis skills.
• Experience with audits, compliance, and multi-entity structures.

Leadership Profile

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-growing environments.
• High integrity, ownership mentality, and strong communication skills.
• Able to engage confidently with CEOs, boards, investors, and government stakeholders.
