Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and handed efficiently.
- Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take vital signs and medical history of patients to support comprehensive care and ensure safety during treatments.
- Manage dental records
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist to optimize patient flow.
- Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control standards and proper handling of medical documentation and records.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to dental terminology or procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in chairside assisting across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency with Dentrix dental software is a plus
- Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while adhering to radiation safety standards; certification in X-ray technology preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation for accurate record keeping within medical records systems.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other clinical staff.
