Job Purpose

Channel Manager - Automotive (Sales)

To lead and manage all retail van and executive sales activities across a defined geographical region. This role ensures sales target achievement, market coverage discipline, trade promotion execution, and customer satisfaction through high-performance field team management.

This role drives daily execution of sales strategy across key markets. It enables strong customer relationships, consistent coverage, and fast commercial response through empowered field teams. It is essential to ensure growth and operational discipline at retail level.

Job Responsibilities

Key Objectives

    • Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets across all product lines
    • Ensure territory coverage and customer visit compliance
    • Deliver field execution of sales promotions and branding initiatives
    • Coach and supervise van and retail sales team members
    • Ensure sales SOP adherence and daily sales system reporting

Key Responsibilities

    • Manage a team of van sales reps, retail sales executives, and field supervisors
    • Plan and monitor daily coverage and routing schedules
    • Review sales team performance and report on daily, weekly, and monthly metrics
    • Execute market promotions and ensure material deployment
    • Act as escalation point for customer service issues or delivery delays
    • Collaborate with branding, admin, and logistics teams to support execution


Job Requirements


Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in automotive field sales or route distribution
    • Proven leadership in retail and B2C sales environments
    • Strong planning and route execution capabilities
    • Preferred experience in Speare parts , Lubricants & Automotive

Knowledge & Skills

  • Product knowledge:- knowledgeable of aftermarket/ auto ancillary product
  • Customer and Personal Service:- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Sales and Marketing:- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
  • Administration and Management:- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Critical Thinking:- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Coaching and Developing Others:- identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work:- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish team work
  • Problem Solving:- identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
