Noor Deira Steel Trading LLC is a growing steel trading company based in Dubai, serving clients across the UAE and GCC region. We specialize in the trading and distribution of high-quality steel products, including rebar, coils, sheets, beams, and other construction materials. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team and oversee our financial operations.

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s full-cycle accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining compliance with UAE tax regulations (including VAT and Corporate Tax), and providing strategic financial insights to support management decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the trading or construction materials industry and be proficient in modern accounting systems.

Experience

· Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience

· Experience in the trading, steel, construction materials, or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses.
• Perform variance analysis between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, and provide actionable insights to management.

2. Tax Compliance (UAE)

• Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT (5%) regulations, including timely preparation and filing of VAT returns.
• Manage Corporate Tax (9%) compliance and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with auditors and tax authorities during audits and inspections.
• Stay updated on changes in UAE tax laws and ensure ongoing compliance.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and payment scheduling.
• Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, collections follow-up, and credit control.
• Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debts.

4. Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Support inventory valuation and reconciliation processes, particularly for steel trading operations.
• Analyze material costs, freight, and other direct costs.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate cost allocation and inventory records.

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and report variances to management.

6. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies to safeguard company assets.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows and processes.
• Maintain proper documentation for audit trails and compliance.

7. Team Leadership

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
• Review and approve work completed by team members.

8. ERP & Systems Management

• Proficiency in Tally is required
• Maintain and optimize accounting systems (e.g., Odoo ERP, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Ensure data integrity and coordinate with IT or external consultants for system improvements.

Technical Knowledge

· Strong proficiency in Tally is required

· Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting standards.

· Deep understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations and compliance requirements.

· Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar).

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic and Hindi is a plus).

Education : Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CMA/ACCA/CA preferred)
