CHAWA is an upcoming premium cafe inspired by Japanese flavors and aesthetics, offering a calm and minimal dining experience centered on matcha, hojicha, and modern comfort food. Our goal is to bring the essence of Japanese simplicity and quality to everyday cafe culture in Sharjah.

Our menu will include crafted beverages, artisanal desserts, and light cafe meals with Japanese-inspired touches — designed to appeal to both cafe lovers and content creators looking for visually stunning, thoughtfully prepared food.

Position Overview
We are looking for a creative and hands-on Chef who can take the lead in developing and executing our cafe menu. The ideal candidate should have a flair for Japanese or Asian-fusion flavors, an eye for clean, elegant presentation, and the ability to create dishes that are both approachable and distinctive.

You will have the opportunity to build the menu from the ground up, shape the kitchen operations, and work closely with the management team in bringing the CHAWA brand to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a menu featuring light meals, all-day breakfast, pastries, and desserts with a Japanese influence (e.g., matcha-infused desserts, katsu sandwiches, yuzu-based sauces, etc.).
• Experiment with new flavor combinations and creative plating suitable for social media visibility.
• Manage ingredient sourcing, costing, and supplier coordination.
• Oversee kitchen setup, workflow organization, and food safety standards.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff once operations begin.
• Collaborate on seasonal menu updates and promotional events.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cafe Chef, Pastry Chef, or R&D Cook.
• Strong understanding of flavor pairing and menu creation.
• Experience with Japanese or Asian-fusion cuisine preferred.
• Creative mindset with attention to presentation and consistency.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a startup environment.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
