Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and formulate automotive and industrial lubricants, greases, and specialty fluids.
- Conduct performance testing on base oils and additive packages to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Perform laboratory analysis including viscosity, flash point, pour point, TBN/TAN, oxidation stability, and other ASTM methods.
- Evaluate raw materials and approve suppliers based on technical specifications.
- Support product development for engine oils, hydraulic fluids, gear oils, and metalworking fluids.
- Troubleshoot product performance issues and provide technical support to production and sales teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as API, SAE, and OEM specifications.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare technical reports.
- Monitor batch blending processes and perform quality control checks on finished products.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and cost efficiency.
- Maintain laboratory equipment calibration and proper chemical inventory control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in lubricant formulation, petroleum products, or specialty chemicals.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of lubricant base oils, additive chemistry, and blending processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as American Petroleum Institute (API) and SAE International (SAE) specifications
