Chief Accountant

About the company:

Usim is a mobile application that allows you to purchase and manage Esim data plans for global travel.

What we expect from you:

• Oversee and manage the entire month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, managing workloads, setting objectives, and conducting performance reviews.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including overseeing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and reporting requirements. Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors during annual audits.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data accuracy.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure optimal liquidity and assist the senior management team with the annual budgeting process, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Find opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve the efficiency of the finance function through automation and best practices.

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification is required (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent).
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle and month-end/year-end close processes.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in XERO.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

Working hours:

• As per Kuwait labor laws: 8 hours per day or 48 hours per week.
• 1-hour break as per Kuwait labor laws.
• We don't judge by hours worked. Instead, we judge by work output.
