Job Overview

Emirates Talent Solution is seeking a seasoned Chief Accountant for a reputable property development and real estate company in Karachi. The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with solid exposure to the real estate or property development sector.

This position will oversee end-to-end accounting operations, ensure compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations, and provide financial insights to senior management. The Chief Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, regulatory adherence, and operational efficiency across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS standards.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Conduct financial analysis and generate performance reports to support strategic decisions.

Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to local taxation laws and statutory requirements.
• Manage corporate and sales tax filings, documentation, and audit processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during reviews and assessments.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Monitor daily cash flow and banking operations to maintain adequate liquidity.
• Manage loan repayments, reconciliations, and treasury transactions.
• Develop and update cash flow projections and liquidity reports for management review.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Assist in annual budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Analyze budget variances and recommend cost-control measures.
• Ensure all financial activities align with approved budgets and internal policies.

Audit & Internal Controls

• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and compliance.
• Strengthen internal control frameworks and accounting procedures.
• Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff.
• Provide training on accounting standards, ERP systems, and reporting practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations.

Candidate ProfileEducation

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Certifications

• Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA (qualified or part-qualified preferred).

Experience

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance.
• At least 5 years in a senior accounting or finance role within property development or real estate (mandatory).

Technical Skills

• Strong command of IFRS, tax regulations, and financial compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in ERP and accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems.
• Practical experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting.

Soft Skills

• Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
• Strong communication and team management skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month
