The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, managing budgets, and supporting strategic financial decisions. The role supervises accounting operations, internal controls, and financial audits.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate accounting records.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee fixed assets and inventory accounting.
Accounting Operations
- Supervise daily accounting activities and accounting staff.
- Ensure timely closing of accounts and month-end procedures.
- Maintain accounting systems and improve financial processes.
- Implement and monitor internal controls.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze financial data and prepare management reports.
- Provide variance analysis and financial recommendations to management.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and local financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Prepare VAT, tax filings, and statutory reports.
- Ensure proper documentation and record retention.
Leadership
- Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding financial matters.
- Support senior management in strategic planning and decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- CA Final or Inter is a must.
- 7–10 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
