Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Chief Engineer to join our team. This role is vital to the smooth daily operation of our hotel, ensuring all building systems are running safely, efficiently, and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general maintenance, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, and be committed to providing excellent service to both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the property, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with hotel standards and safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Maintain logs and records of work performed, parts used, and system performance.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Support loss prevention, security, shuttle maintenance, and other hotel operational needs.
  • Ensure tools, materials, and workspaces are organized and maintained.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and hotel policies at all times.
  • Assist with energy-saving initiatives and sustainability efforts.
  • Managing and guiding the engineering team, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensuring that all engineering activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hotel engineering, facility maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot tools such as ammeters, voltmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
