The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing company’s financial strategy, risk management, regulatory compliance, and financial planning while ensuring alignment with Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Corporate Governance Guidelines. This role focuses on financial reporting, liquidity management, investment planning, and profitability optimization, ensuring company’s financial health, sustainability, and compliance in the FinTech industry. The CFO collaborates with senior leadership, regulatory authorities, external auditors, and financial institutions to drive strategic financial growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement company’s financial strategy in alignment with business goals and regulatory frameworks.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support growth and investment decisions.
- Identify opportunities for financial efficiency, revenue growth, and cost optimization.
2. Financial Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Ensure full compliance with QCB regulations, IFRS accounting standards, AML/CTF requirements, and financial governance policies.
- Oversee regulatory filings, audit reports, and compliance documentation for QCB and financial authorities.
- Implement internal controls and risk management frameworks to prevent financial fraud and irregularities.
3. Treasury & Liquidity Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity risk, and working capital to ensure optimal financial stability.
- Oversee fund transfers, settlements, and reconciliation processes in coordination with banking partners.
- Optimize capital allocation and investment strategies to enhance financial performance.
4. Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market risks, credit risks, and operational risks.
- Establish robust risk management frameworks in line with QCB Corporate Governance Guidelines.
- Work closely with compliance and audit teams to ensure continuous monitoring and control of financial risks.
5. Financial Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Oversee financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct financial performance analysis and provide insights to support executive decision-making.
6. Investment & Capital Management
- Develop investment strategies to maximize ROI and manage financial risk exposure.
- Evaluate funding options, including equity financing, debt structuring, and venture capital investments.
- Strengthen relationships with banks, investors, and financial partners to secure funding opportunities.
7. Cost Management & Profitability Optimization
- Implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance financial efficiency without compromising service quality.
- Monitor profit margins, operational costs, and expense control measures.
- Oversee pricing strategies and revenue models to sustain business profitability.
8. Audit & External Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax authorities to ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations.
- Oversee internal audits, forensic accounting, and fraud investigations as required.
- Provide financial insights and reports to company’s Board of Directors, investors, and regulatory agencies.
9. Team Leadership & Financial Governance
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, including accountants, auditors, and financial analysts.
- Foster a culture of financial transparency, accountability, and strategic financial planning.
- Ensure that all financial policies, procedures, and governance frameworks are consistently applied.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA) or certifications such as CPA, CFA, ACCA, or CTP preferred.
- 10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in FinTech, banking, or digital payments.
- Strong expertise in financial governance, risk management, and corporate finance.
- Experience handling QCB regulatory compliance, financial audits, and treasury management
