Chief Finance & Operations Officer - Preferably Ex-Banker

Job Summary

The Chief Finance & Operations Officer (CFOO) is a senior executive responsible for overseeing the financial health, banking relationships, and operational efficiency of the organization. This role combines strategic financial leadership, strong banking expertise, and operational management to ensure sustainable growth, profitability, and compliance. The CFOO will play a critical role in managing financial institutions, optimizing cash flow, and driving overall organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation.
  • Lead financial risk management, audits, and internal controls.

Banking & Financial Institutions Management

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Oversee banking facilities including working capital limits, trade finance, and term financing.
  • Handle Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, export financing, and foreign remittances.
  • Negotiate banking terms, interest rates, and credit lines.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of banking instruments for imports and exports.
  • Monitor compliance with banking covenants and regulatory requirements.

Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Optimize supply chain, procurement, and logistics processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define long-term business strategy.
  • Identify growth opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and investment strategies.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and expansion activities where applicable.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor finance and operations teams.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results.
  • Ensure effective cross-functional coordination across departments.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls and corporate governance standards.
  • Oversee tax planning and regulatory filings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in finance, banking, and operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in banking operations, trade finance, and corporate financing.
  • Proven experience in dealing with banks for credit facilities, LCs, export finance, and foreign transactions.
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or export-oriented industries is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
