Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team in Egypt. This role requires someone who can build the finance department from scratch, implement efficient systems, and take full ownership of all financial operations. The right candidate will also act as a trusted representative of the Chairman, handling sensitive responsibilities with professionalism and integrity.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Chief Accountant to join our team in Egypt . This role requires someone who can build the finance department from scratch , implement efficient systems, and take full ownership of all financial operations. The right candidate will also act as a trusted representative of the Chairman , handling sensitive responsibilities with professionalism and integrity.


️ Core Responsibilities


Core Accounting & Finance

  • Manage day-to-day financial activities including preparation and posting of accounting vouchers, bank reconciliations, supplier payments, customer billing, receivables & payables.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, P&L statements, and balance sheets in accordance with IFRS and audit standards.
  • Maintain internal control systems and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and external audits.
  • Process payroll and ensure alignment with employee benefits and timekeeping across multiple departments.


Project & Cost Accounting

  • Monitor and control budgets related to on-site activities across construction, fit out, and event projects.
  • Analyse project profitability, variance reports, and job costing with focus on labor, material usage, and procurement efficiency.
  • Support project managers with financial tracking of site operations, production cost breakdown, and budget forecasting.
  • Implement accurate costing systems to measure operational efficiency and improve margin performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with procurement, operations, HR, and admin teams to align financial planning with project timelines.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier contracts, logistics expenses, and resource allocation for cost optimization.
  • Provide proactive financial insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.


Audit & Compliance

  • Ensure financial records comply with international accounting standards.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with auditors by providing documentation and clarifications.

Property Portfolio Management

  • Manage a portfolio of properties including rental tracking, cheque collection, deposit, and record-keeping.
  • Maintain financial records of the Chairman’s multiple properties.
  • Collect rent cheques and deposit them in the bank.
  • Track rental income and property expenses.

External Representation

  • Visit banks for financial transactions and documentation.
  • Represent the Chairman in financial discussions and team communications.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador of the company with external stakeholders.


🧰 Tools & Systems

  • Must have hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks or SAP is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Professional certification (CA / CMA / CPA / ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years in a senior accounting or finance role.
  • Prior experience in construction, real estate, Events, architecture, or Fit-Out sectors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and financial acumen.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential matters.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
