Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Real Estate
Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and management of the company’s real estate operations. This role is critical in driving financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing risk, and supporting strategic growth initiatives across property development, sales, leasing, and asset management.
The CFO will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team to provide financial leadership and decision support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement the company’s overall financial strategy aligned with business objectives
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, providing insights on financial performance and growth opportunities
- Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for real estate portfolios and projects
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Reporting
- Oversee preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Present financial reports and analysis to senior management and the Board
3. Real Estate Financial Management
- Oversee financial management of real estate assets, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and developments
- Evaluate investment opportunities through financial modeling, feasibility studies, IRR/NPV analysis, and risk assessment
- Monitor project costs, construction budgets, and development timelines
- Optimize asset performance through cost control, revenue enhancement, and capital structuring
4. Cash Flow, Treasury & Funding
- Manage cash flow planning to ensure sufficient liquidity across projects and operations
- Oversee banking relationships, financing arrangements, and loan negotiations
- Structure debt and equity financing for all projects
- Manage escrow accounts, trust accounts, and client monies where applicable
5. Compliance, Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, including real estate, tax, VAT, DIFC/UAE financial regulations
- Oversee internal controls, financial policies, and corporate governance standards
- Manage audits (internal and external) and liaise with auditors, regulators, and advisors
- Identify financial, operational, and market risks and implement mitigation strategies
6. Taxation & Legal Coordination
- Oversee corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and transaction-related tax matters
- Coordinate with legal advisors on contracts, SPVs, joint ventures, and shareholder agreements
- Ensure proper structuring of real estate entities and transactions
7. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop the finance and accounting team
- Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and ensure skill development
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CFA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Finance Manager, with significant exposure to real estate or property development
- Prior experience as CFO, Finance Director, or Senior Finance Leader in a real estate organization
- Strong knowledge of UAE/DIFC regulatory and financial environment is an advantage
Reporting Line
- Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
- Works closely with the Board of Directors
