One of our Canadian based clients is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to join their team in Karachi.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Operations & Execution
- Translate the company’s strategic vision into operational plans. Develop and monitor KPIs, performance metrics, and action plans to ensure delivery of strategic objectives.
- Ensure operational excellence to support client delivery, project profitability, and service quality.
- Oversee day-to-day operations: project management, resource allocation, workflows, vendor and partner management.
- Work closely with different departments (HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, IT, and Client Delivery) to ensure smooth operations, alignment, and cross-functional collaboration across the company.
- Implement operational frameworks, processes, and tools that drive efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Lead the development and implementation of policies and frameworks for both internal teams and external client engagements, ensuring compliance and alignment with best practices.
Financial & Performance Management
- Work with finance leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and operational plans that support revenue targets and profitability.
- Monitor financial performance of engagements / client projects to make sure margins are maintained.
- Analyze operational costs and identify improvement opportunities without compromising service quality.
Client Delivery & Quality Assurance
- Ensure high quality in client deliverables: project oversight, risk management, quality control, and on-time delivery.
- Establish feedback loops with clients for continuous improvement.
- Lead development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) or best practice documentation to maintain consistency across engagements.
People, Culture & Leadership
- Partner with HR Head to embed performance culture, leadership development, and high employee engagement.
- Oversee resource management: staffing, development, retention, and succession planning.
- Mentor senior leaders; ensure alignment of teams with company mission and values.
Growth & Scaling
- Drive operational scalability: identify processes or systems that need to evolve as the business grows.
- Evaluate technology, automation, and tools that enhance productivity and reduce friction.
- Help define new service lines or expansions and ensure operations are ready to support new offerings.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Report regularly to the CEO / Board on operational health, including KPIs, risk areas, resource status, and process improvements.
- Engage with key external and internal stakeholders: clients, partners, senior leadership, vendors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 8-12 years of senior operational experience, ideally in consulting / professional services environment, with at least 3-5 years in executive / COOs-type role.
- Proven track record of scaling operations, enhancing efficiency, improving project delivery and profitability.
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, cost control, margin management.
- Excellent leadership, people management, and organizational skills.
- Strong process-orientation, excellent problem solving, planning & execution capability.
- Experience with project management tools, operational technologies, and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
