CCECC Dubai is hiring an experienced Chief Surveyor for a major Dubai RTA infrastructure project involving roads, bridges, underpasses, utilities, interchanges, and associated civil works.
The Chief Surveyor will lead and manage all project surveying activities, ensuring accurate setting-out, control-point verification, as-built documentation, and compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, consultant requirements, and Dubai RTA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the project survey team and surveying activities.
- Establish, verify, maintain, and protect horizontal and vertical survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids.
- Carry out and supervise setting-out works for roads, bridges, underpasses, utilities, drainage networks, retaining structures, culverts, and associated infrastructure works.
- Review approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, coordinate data, and survey requirements before execution.
- Verify survey calculations, coordinates, levels, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and construction tolerances.
- Conduct pre-construction, construction-stage, and final as-built surveys.
- Ensure all survey works comply with RTA requirements, project specifications, approved method statements, and consultant instructions.
- Coordinate closely with construction managers, site engineers, technical office teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Prepare and review survey reports, inspection requests, as-built drawings, setting-out records, and survey documentation.
- Monitor the calibration, condition, and proper use of total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, digital levels, and other surveying instruments.
- Identify survey discrepancies, coordinate conflicts, or design issues and report them promptly to the project management team.
- Support quantity verification, progress measurement, earthwork calculations, and site measurement activities.
- Ensure proper record keeping and traceability of all survey data.
- Train and guide land surveyors and assistant surveyors.
- Ensure surveying activities are carried out safely and in accordance with project HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of relevant surveying experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or chief surveyor role.
- Strong experience in major UAE infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in Dubai RTA roads and infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in roads, bridges, underpasses, interchanges, utilities, drainage, and major civil works.
- Strong knowledge of survey control networks, coordinate systems, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and as-built survey requirements.
- Proficiency in Total Station, Auto Level, Digital Level, GPS/GNSS, and related survey equipment.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and survey data-processing software.
- Ability to interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
- Strong leadership, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Candidates currently available in the UAE will be given preference.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous approval or experience working with RTA consultants or major infrastructure consultants in Dubai.
- Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, utility authority, and NOC requirements.
- Experience managing multiple survey teams across large project areas.
- UAE driving licence is an advantage.
