Chief Technology Officer

Role Overview:

We are looking to hire a Chief Technology Officer for a financial services organization in Pakistan. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the organization’s technology vision, ensuring scalable infrastructure, and enabling digital innovation in a regulated financial environment.

The position is based in Islamabad and is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define and execute the bank’s overall technology strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements

2. Act as a core technologist, providing hands-on leadership and deep technical expertise across platforms, systems, and architecture

3. Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of IT infrastructure and enterprise architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience

4. Oversee core banking systems, digital banking platforms, integrations, and data architecture

5. Drive modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, automation, and cybersecurity enhancements

6. Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery capabilities across all systems

7. Collaborate closely with business leadership to enable digital products, financial inclusion initiatives, and customer-centric solutions

8. Build, mentor, and lead high-performing technology teams

9. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (SBP and relevant frameworks)

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Proven experience as a CTO or CIO within a large bank or well-established financial institution

2. Strong background as a core technologist, with hands-on expertise in system architecture, software development, and infrastructure

3. Deep experience in IT infrastructure and architecture, including cloud environments, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems

4. Prior experience working with or implementing core banking platforms and digital banking ecosystems

5. Strong understanding of regulatory environments within banking/microfinance (preferably in Pakistan or emerging markets)

6. Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technology transformations

7. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills
