Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technology strategy, product development, and innovation for our healthcare start-up. The CTO will be responsible for architecting scalable solutions, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and driving the adoption of cutting-edge digital health technologies to transform patient care.

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong technical depth, proven leadership in start-up environments, and passion for healthcare innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

• Define and own the company’s technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the end-to-end development of digital healthcare products (mobile apps, web platforms, AI/ML integrations, IoT.)
• Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate technology stacks and architectures.
• Stay ahead of emerging digital health trends (telemedicine, AI diagnostics, wearables, blockchain for health records).

Healthcare Compliance & Security

• Ensure compliance with healthcare and health data regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, UAE healthcare laws, DHA/DOH/MOHAP and TDRA requirements).
• Oversee data privacy and cybersecurity protocols for sensitive patient health information.
• Implement best practices in interoperability (e.g., HL7, FHIR standards).

Product Development & Innovation

• Drive Minimum Viable Process development and rapid prototyping in alignment with business needs.
• Collaborate with clinicians, patients, and stakeholders to design user-centric healthcare solutions.
• Integrate AI, predictive analytics, and digital health tools to enhance patient outcomes.

Team Building & Management

• Build, lead, and mentor a cross-functional engineering team (developers, data scientists, AI specialists).
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and agile development.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and clinical teams to ensure seamless delivery.

Stakeholder & Investor Relations

• Present technical vision and progress to investors, board members, and regulators.
• Translate complex technical topics into business-friendly insights.
• Support fundraising efforts by highlighting technology differentiation and scalability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or related field.
• Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or senior technology leader in start-ups (preferably healthcare or regulated industries).
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, mobile development, APIs, and DevOps.
• Experience with health data systems, EMRs/EHRs, interoperability protocols.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in healthcare technology.
• Hands-on leadership style: ability to code, prototype, and set up infrastructure when needed.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• Experience with AI/ML, IoT, wearable integrations, or blockchain in healthcare.
• Knowledge of UAE/GCC healthcare systems is a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in an early-stage, resource-constrained environment.
