Many Rivers Montessori was founded in 2014 and is committed to providing a world-class Montessori educational program to Twin Ports families. The school enrolls more than 200 students from sixteen-months-old through eighth grade. MRM is an inspired community of students, educators, and families coming together to empower students to transform the world into a better place for all. The foundation of the school’s educational philosophy is the more than 100-years-old Montessori method.

About the Child Care Assistant Position:

The Child Care Assistant works primarily with preschool/kindergarten aged children in our Children’s House environments. A Children’s House classroom is a mixed-age environment of 24-29 children, with the oldest children completing their kindergarten year. Each classroom always has at least a one to ten adult to child ratio.

• The Child Care Assistant is an hourly, non-exempt position offered on a part-time or full-time basis.

Details

• Many Rivers Hours of Operation are 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Hours can be part-time or full-time up to 40 hours per week during any of these times of operation, that fit into our needs. Working hours can be negotiated and discussed during interviews and hiring processes.
• Looking to hire positions for both full-time and part-time hours. Please indicate in your application which position you are applying for.
• One all-staff meeting per month from 5:30-7:00 PM.
• Occasional evening hours and/or professional development days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transitioning children to outside play, indoor activities, clean up, arrivals, dismissal and other transitions.
• Be part of the before care and/or aftercare team.
• Assist with providing breaks to other staff members.
• Assist with nap room supervision.
• Assist with laundry and dishes.
• Nurture the growth of the students and support their independence.
• Ensure physical and emotional safety for the students.
• Works at least two of the periods known as Fall Break (October), Winter Break (February), and Spring Break (April).
• Complete others tasks as assigned by the Head of School and Director of Auxiliary Staff.
• Attend staff meetings and other key school events as directed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required - this is a great job for a college student
• Ability to pass a background check is required
• Previous experience working with children
• Consistency in behavior and temperament
• Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, genuine and joyful nature, and quiet and welcoming manner with children

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage from $17.50/hr to $21.40/hr. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, paid sick leave, paid parental leave, tuition discount for dependent students, and disability/life insurance.
