What You’ll Do

As a Lead Teacher, you’ll be a cornerstone of our center’s success:
  • Create a safe, loving, and stimulating classroom where every child feels seen and supported.
  • Deliver high-quality early childhood education tailored to each child’s developmental needs.
  • Maintain full compliance with NC Division of Child Development and Health Department standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with families and team members to build a thriving learning community.

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Education unit.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-year verifiable experience in a childcare center, or years of experience working with children up to 12 years of age, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • NC Credentials or equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit, required.
    • Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire, required.
    • ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire (infants up to 12 months of age)of age), required.
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (required renewal every 5 years), and Workforce letter (within 60 days of hire) or education verification until workforce letter is obtain.
    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
    • BSAC required for those working with school age children. CDL for school age if driving the buses.· NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background letter · NC Division of Child Development Workforce letter within 2 months of hire · NC Institute for Child Development Professional ECE Certification within 2 months of hire
    • CDL license (if hired for driving buses) and working with school age children.
    • Maintain training hours requirements as outlined by the Division of Child Development
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Playground Safety training
