Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
- Design and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety standards, including first aid procedures when necessary.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and special education professionals to support individual learning plans and developmental goals.
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and outdoor play to ensure comfort and safety.
- Document children's progress and communicate effectively with families about their child's development and activities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or classroom settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a caring environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists.
- Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with children of diverse backgrounds and needs.
