Childcare Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care to children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
• Design and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and emotional well-being.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety standards, including first aid procedures when necessary.
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and special education professionals to support individual learning plans and developmental goals.
• Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and outdoor play to ensure comfort and safety.
• Document children's progress and communicate effectively with families about their child's development and activities.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or classroom settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a caring environment.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists.
• Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with children of diverse backgrounds and needs.
