The Broomfield Children’s Library is hiring Teen Assistants to support staff with summer library programming that promotes literacy and youth engagement. This position is scheduled 10 hours per week during the Summer (May 27 - August 7). Shifts are typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings with some evenings and weekends required.
Are you a good fit?
Assists library staff with the implementation of Children and Youth library programs and outreach in the community including: greeting patrons; counting attendance; completing set-up and takedown; distributing summer reading program prizes.
Education
High School diploma / GED, or working towards completion of diploma/GED
Experience
1 year experience (formal or informal) childcare - preferred
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be between the ages of 14 and 19 years old and live and/or go to school in Broomfield or have a strong connection to Broomfield as determined by the department. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, and background checks, which may include local police check and sex-offender registry.
