Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of daily news coverage, ensuring timely and accurate reporting on local events and issues
• Edit articles for clarity, accuracy, AP style adherence, and overall quality, providing constructive feedback to writers
• Coordinate with photographers and videographers to produce high-quality visual content that complements written stories
• Fact-check all content meticulously to maintain journalistic integrity and credibility
• Manage social media channels by sharing stories, engaging with the community, and growing audience reach
• Oversee the research process for stories, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reliable sources
• Proofread and copy edit articles to ensure error-free publication while maintaining a lively and engaging tone

Requirements

• Proven experience in journalism or editorial roles, with a strong portfolio of published work
• Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail and mastery of AP style guidelines
• Proficiency in photography, videography, video production, and editing tools to create multimedia content
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse communities effectively
• Strong research skills to gather accurate information quickly and efficiently
• Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with reporters, photographers, designers, and community members
• Experience managing social media platforms for news dissemination and audience engagement
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and storytelling quality

Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
