The Civic Engagement and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, planning, implementation, and promotion of the College's Civic Engagement efforts, including serving as co-advisor to the Phi Theta Kappa and aiding Honors College efforts. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Civic Engagement, the Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Civic Engagement, Assistant Dean of Civic Engagement and the Faculty Chair of The Honors College to strengthen student support efforts. The coordinator is responsible for entering, maintaining and reporting data and academic information related to all related functional areas and will provide support for new and continuing students pertaining to opportunities, requirements, procedures, and policies of student programs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide daily oversight of the associated office suite, ensuring all necessary supplies are available for faculty and students in suite, equipment is maintained, and any necessary work orders are submitted.
Coordinate travel logistics and documentation related to functional areas
Provide support related to academics, goal setting, and transitional assistance for students.
Assist Director of Civic Engagement with collection, management, and tracking of student placement paperwork as necessary.
Assist in the marketing, recruitment, application, interviewing, selection, and retention of students in associated programs.
Coordinate with Director of Civic Engagement to ensure that student service agreements are appropriate and successfully fulfill service-learning requirements.
Support senior staff in their outreach to high school counselors, teachers, and administrators as well as prospective students and their parents.
Manage process for marketing, recruitment, application, enrollment, and retention of students in the College's chapter of international Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa.
Maintain membership records for all Phi Theta Kappa members. Determine eligibility and track academic progress. Serve as OCC's official campus verification agent for Phi Theta Kappa.
Serve as a member of the advising team for PTK chapter, coordinate weekly leadership meetings, support creation and facilitation of Phi Theta Kappa leadership trainings.
Schedule, train, and oversee Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Team members for weekly office hours.
Assist with the coordination, planning and administration of Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremonies and other PTK events with campus events staff.
Accompany identified students to local, regional, and national opportunities and events.
Assist in the administration of the annual SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence nomination process. Assist student nominees with application process.
Enter, manage and maintain records for all students applying to and enrolled in the Honors College; Assist in tracking academic progress; Report all official academic record information (including Honors Contracts, Honors Service Contracts, and completed Honors Affiliate and Scholar Designations) to be recorded on official transcripts or/and printed on diplomas.
Aid the Faculty Honors Committee in the selection process for the Susan Mitchell Award for Honors Writing or Research Excellence.
Serve as a member of and a resource for the Faculty Honors Committee.
Assist in the creation of program materials, receptions, and other programs and events for Honors College participants.
Assist with other departmental initiatives as assigned.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalent in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and a minimum of 2 years of relevant college/university administrative experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with student information systems (Colleague, Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.) strongly preferred
Experience working directly with College or University faculty or/and post-secondary teaching
Experience working with students and employees from diverse backgrounds
Master's degree from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalent in a related discipline
Experience managing official academic records
Experience counseling/advising college students
Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

Additional Information:
Salary range is: $44,000 - $55,000, commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
