Civil Construction Manager

Job Purpose

The Civil Construction Manager is responsible for managing and supervising all civil works on site, ensuring execution in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedule, budget, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Civil Works Execution

  • Manage and oversee all civil construction activities including earthworks, foundations, concrete works, structural works, and finishing.
  • Ensure all works are executed as per approved shop drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate civil activities with MEP and other disciplines to avoid clashes and delays.

Planning & Progress Control

  • Review and follow up on civil work schedules and construction sequences.
  • Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors in line with project timelines.
  • Monitor productivity and progress and implement corrective actions when required.

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Ensure compliance with approved ITPs, QA/QC procedures, and project quality standards.
  • Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients.
  • Address NCRs and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Enforce project HSE plans and safety procedures.
  • Ensure risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are implemented on site.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture.

Cost & Resource Management

  • Monitor material usage and control wastage.
  • Support cost control activities and variation management.
  • Coordinate with procurement and site teams for timely material availability.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Liaise with project stakeholders (Client, Consultant, Subcontractors).
  • Lead site coordination meetings related to civil works.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Handover & Close-Out

  • Ensure completion of civil works snag-free.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and final handover activities.
  • Ensure as-built drawings and civil documentation are completed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in civil construction, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong experience in infrastructure, buildings, or large-scale civil projects.
  • Experience working in GCC construction projects is a plus.

  • Strong leadership and site management skills.
  • Excellent planning and coordination abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and standards.
  • Good reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Quality compliance and NCR closure rate
  • HSE incidents and safety performance
  • Cost control and material wastage
  • Client / consultant satisfaction
