Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting and Design:
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and blueprints using computer-aided design (CAD) software, primarily AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit, MicroStation, or Civil 3D is a significant advantage.
- Prepare architectural and structural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings for foundations, concrete structures, and steelwork.
- Develop detailed drawings for infrastructure projects, such as road alignments, grading plans, drainage systems, water and sewage networks, and utility layouts.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, clear, and complete, incorporating all necessary dimensions, materials, and procedures.
2. Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with Civil Engineers, Architects, and Project Managers to understand project requirements and design concepts.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, Structural) to integrate their requirements into the civil drawings and resolve clashes.
- Revise and update drawings based on mark-ups and feedback from engineers and site teams.
3. Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, project specifications, and relevant UAE authorities' regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Trakhees, Civil Defense).
- Stay updated with the latest UAE codes and standards, such as the Dubai Green Building Regulations, and incorporate them into designs.
4. Documentation and Management:
- Maintain an organized filing system for all drawings, documents, and revisions.
- Prepare drawing submittals for client and authority approvals.
- Assist in the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and material schedules when required.
5. Site Support:
- Occasionally visit project sites to conduct measurements, verify existing conditions, and assist in resolving any design-related issues that arise during construction.
