Job Purpose

The Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, executing, and supervising civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role contributes to the development and maintenance of infrastructure by applying technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and innovative solutions.

The Civil Engineer collaborates with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to support sustainable development, optimize resources, and uphold compliance with local and international engineering codes and safety regulations.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties

Planning & Design
-
Lead the development of engineering designs, layouts, and detailed drawings for civil works.

Conduct feasibility studies, surveys, and geotechnical evaluations to assess project viability.

Ensure designs incorporate sustainability principles, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Review and approve technical specifications, BOQs, and engineering deliverables.

Project & Construction Management

Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor execution to ensure alignment with objectives.

Supervise on-site activities, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, quality benchmarks, and HSE regulations.

Conduct site inspections, testing, and quality audits; implement corrective actions as needed

Manage contract administration, including claims, variations, and project documentation.

Technical Compliance & Safety:
-
Ensure all projects comply with local authority approvals, industry codes, and international standards.

Promote a safety-first culture by implementing HSE policies, risk assessments, and incident prevention measures.

Oversee quality assurance processes in alignment with ISO, OSHAD, and organizational standards.

Stakeholder Coordination:

Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants to deliver integrated project solutions.

Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Support vendor and subcontractor evaluations, ensuring alignment with technical and contractual requirements.
Education & Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

Professional license/certification (PE, CEng) is an advantage.

Additional credentials in project management, HSE, or sustainability (e.g., PMP, NEBOSH, LEED) desirable.
Proficiency in engineering and project management software required
Experience and skills:
Industry Experience (No. of years):

5–7 years in civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
Position/functional experience (No. of years):

3–5 years in project planning, design, and site supervision roles.
Competencies and Skills:
Strong grasp of civil engineering principles, structural design, and construction methodologies.
