Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and review civil engineering design plans, drawings, and specifications submitted by external consultants or contractors.
  • Ensure that all design documents meet project objectives, local and international codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Recommend necessary design modifications or improvements to optimize functionality, safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure design coherence and resolve any conflicts.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure designs consider constructability, feasibility, and cost optimization while maintaining quality and project integrity.
  • Identify potential risks related to the civil design and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Review and verify design documents, calculations, and reports before final approval.
  • Conduct site visits as required to ensure that designs are being implemented as planned and provide on-site guidance where necessary.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on design progress, challenges, and proposed modifications for senior management and stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in civil, with at least 5 years in a PMC environment reviewing designs.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant civil engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of local and international building codes, design standards, and regulations.
