Civil Engineer

Education and Training Requirements
To become a Civil Engineer, one must:
- Earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Pass the relevant professional licensure examinations to legally practice the profession.
Skills and Competency Requirements
To excel in this profession, a Civil Engineer should possess:
- In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, cost control, planning methods, and PERT-CPM scheduling.
- Capability to manage full project implementation — from plan presentation, material selection and procurement, to manpower scheduling and execution.
- Proficiency in building maintenance disciplines including masonry, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical works.
- Understanding of business management principles such as strategic planning, resource allocation, production processes, and team coordination.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with diverse teams.
