Our client is looking for an experienced and technically strong Civil Engineer – Marine to support the design, construction, and maintenance of marine infrastructure projects such as ports, jetties, breakwaters, quay walls, and coastal protection systems.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee marine civil engineering projects from design through execution and commissioning.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, designs, and technical documents for marine and coastal structures.
  • Supervise construction of jetties, quay walls, dolphins, breakwaters, piling, and dredging operations.
  • Conduct site inspections, geotechnical and hydrographic data assessments, and provide engineering solutions based on findings.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client representatives to ensure project compliance with technical specifications and HSE standards.
  • Review and approve method statements, material submittals, and construction procedures.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with local Omani regulations, environmental policies, and international marine construction standards (BS, EN, ASTM, PIANC, etc.).
  • Assist in tendering, cost estimation, and feasibility studies for upcoming marine projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineers.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 8 to12 years of experience in marine and coastal infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise in design, construction, and maintenance of ports, harbours, jetties, and breakwaters.
  • Strong knowledge of marine construction techniques including piling, dredging, concrete works, and coastal protection.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
  • Solid understanding of HSE and QA/QC standards applicable to marine construction.
  • Prior experience working in Oman or the GCC region is highly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.


Preferred Certifications

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng / PE) or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • HSE Certification (NEBOSH / IOSH).
  • Project Management Certification (PMP / PRINCE2) is an advantage.
