Civil Project Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer with strong subcontractor work experience in UAE/GCC construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for managing site execution, coordinating with main contractors and consultants, supervising manpower, monitoring project progress, and ensuring timely completion of works as per project specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience handling civil and finishing works under main contractors from project initiation until final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise civil construction activities as per approved drawings and project specifications.
• Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Manage site activities including structural, block work, plastering, concrete, finishing, and external works.
• Monitor daily site progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Prepare lookahead schedules, daily reports, and weekly progress updates.
• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and technical documents before execution.
• Ensure proper manpower planning and productivity at site.
• Coordinate material requests and monitor site material usage.
• Attend project meetings, consultant meetings, and coordination meetings.
• Raise RFIs, WIRs, MIRs, NCR responses, and maintain proper project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and QA/QC teams.
• Ensure all works are executed according to quality and safety standards.
• Resolve technical and site execution issues effectively.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and work progress.
• Coordinate with planning, procurement, and commercial departments for smooth project execution.
• Support billing measurements and progress claim preparation when required.
• Handle snagging activities and final handover documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of UAE/GCC construction experience.
• Mandatory experience working with subcontracting companies under main contractors.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction and project execution.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience in handling site coordination and project management activities.
• Good understanding of QA/QC procedures and project documentation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and work under pressure.
• UAE Driving License is preferred.
