Civil Structural Draftsman

Job Summary

We are looking for a Structural Draftsman who is responsible for preparing accurate structural drawings and detailing for residential, commercial, and industrial building projects. Working closely with structural engineers and project teams, the draftsman develops construction drawings, reinforcement details, and fabrication drawings in compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare structural drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and detailed construction drawings using CAD software.
• Develop reinforcement detailing for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, retaining walls, and other structural elements.
• Produce bar bending schedules (BBS) and reinforcement shop drawings.
• Interpret structural calculations, engineering sketches, and design specifications.
• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, MEP, and civil disciplines to identify and resolve clashes.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineer comments and client requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant building codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings.
• Assist engineers during design development and construction phases.
• Support site teams by providing drawing clarifications and incorporating field changes into as-built drawings.
• Prepare material quantity take-offs when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in structural drafting for building construction projects.
• Experience in residential, commercial, and high-rise building projects is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Revit Structure is preferred.
• Familiarity with structural detailing software such as Tekla Structures or AutoCAD Structural Detailing is an advantage.
• Understanding of reinforced concrete and structural steel detailing.
• Ability to read and interpret structural calculations and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and drafting standards.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.

• Experience working with consultants, contractors, or engineering firms in building construction.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
