Claims Adjuster, Large Loss

What To Expect
The Large Loss Adjuster is responsible for managing high-exposure, complex, and litigated claims, including catastrophic injuries, excess limit exposures, and high-profile cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling auto insurance claims, a solid understanding of litigation processes, and a proven ability to negotiate settlements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely and fair resolution of complex claims while adhering to legal standards and best practices, with a strong focus on customer service and protecting the interests of both insureds and the company.

What You'll Do

  • Manage complex coverage issues, excess limit exposures, catastrophic injuries, high profile cases, and litigated claims, with a focus on customer service
  • Communicate with policyholders, adjusters, leadership, legal counsel, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve claims
  • Maintain accurate records of claims and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
  • Attend mediations and/or trials, representing the company’s interests and ensuring alignment with legal strategies
  • Assess the cost of defense versus indemnity, analyzing financial and legal implications to support strategic decision-making while protecting the insureds and or the company’s interests
  • Provide strategic direction to defense counsel, negotiate timely and fair settlements, oversee loss adjustment expenses, and offer actionable recommendations to the claims management team on settlement or defense strategies


  • What You'll Bring

  • Prior Bodily Injury claims handling experience
  • Litigation experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of auto insurance policies, liability laws, and claims best practices
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage a demanding workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
