SUMMARY

Curative is reimagining health insurance - with $0 out of pocket costs and by reducing barriers to people seeking care. Help us create a better healthcare experience for our members by making it easy & intuitive for them to access the care they need. We believe in a clear, simple health plan that allows our members to get zero-cost in- network care anytime they need it. We want to put healthcare back in the hands of the patient and clinicians, with a focus on preventative care. We are searching for a Mailroom-Claims Clerk to run our mailroom processes effectively and efficiently, with quality in work completion. Perform data entry of claim appeal data and complete all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate receipt and routing of all incoming packages and deliveries.
  • Pick up and process mail from the post office, including certified mail.
  • Track and log all certified mail and incoming checks.
  • Research and identify associated claims related to received checks and route as appropriate.
  • Prepare and distribute outgoing mail, including checks and internal correspondence.
  • Coordinate with external scanning vendor to ensure timely transfer of paper claims.
  • Manage document storage and retrieval through vendor.
  • Monitor automated grievance intake and assist with exception handling as needed.
  • Support all incoming and outgoing mail operations to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce rework and improve accuracy.
  • Attend departmental meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain required productivity and accuracy standards after training.
  • Adhere to company policies and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Excellent Working Knowledge of Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Drives required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding is a plus
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows
  • Excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of staff.
  • Able to work with limited supervision and meet specific turnaround times
  • Ability to stay focused and sit for extended periods of time at a computer workstation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
❑ At least 3 years of prior experience in mail room operations, processes, and equipment
❑ High school diploma or equivalent.
