About the Role

Hello, Classroom Nurses! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Classroom Nurse in Fayetteville, GA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in consulting with and providing training for teachers and staff concerning various medical conditions and delegated medical procedures; in addition to developing health care plans and providing treatment as ordered by a physician to eligible students with disabilities according to IEP recommendations

What You’ll Do
  • Provide direct nursing services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individual Health Care Plans
  • Assist in developing and implementing health care plans for students with chronic health conditions and special medical needs
  • Monitor student health status, including restrictive diets and ongoing treatment plans as directed by physicians
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and district policies
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, school staff, and families to support student health and educational access
  • Participate in Student Support Teams, IEP meetings, and provide health-related training to staff and students as needed
  • Support students with physical needs, including lifting, positioning, transferring, and accompanying students on transportation when required
  • Communicate health updates and concerns promptly while providing high-quality, student-centered care
What We’re Looking For
  • Valid State of Georgia licensure as a registered nurse
  • Nationally recognized Health Care Providers CPR AED certification
  • One (1) year patient care or school clinic experience, including but not limited to administration of medications, health assessments and use of basic computer applications.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred, not required
